General information
Prof. Dr. Alexander S. Kleschev is a top scientist of the Intelligent System Laboratory. He obtained in 1964 a Diploma in mathematics at the Leningrad State University. In 1973 he received his PhD degree (Russian candidate of science) in computer science from the Institute for Cybernetics of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Kiev, and in 1990 he was awarded a Professor's degree (Russian doctor of science) in artificial intelligence at the Institute for Applied Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Moscow. From 1963-1967 he served as a programmer for the Leningrad Neuro-Surgical Institute, from 1967-1974 he was a researcher at the Institute for Physiology of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, and in 1974 he was appointed at the Institute for Automation & Control Processes of the Far Eastern Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Vladivostok and at the Far Eastern State University, Vladivostok. He has published over 360 international and national journal articles, conference papers and two books in various fields of biological and medical cybernetics, informatics and artificial intelligence, and participated in national and international cooperative industry-research institute projects. His research interests include the development and using knowledge-oriented methods and intelligent systems, focusing on theoretical and applied problems. Most of the researches in the IACP Laboratory IS have been accomplished under his scientific supervising. For his work, he was rewarded the title of Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation (1997), he was elected a member of the Russian Academy of Engineer Sciences (1994). He was a member of a number of international and national working groups on artificial intelligence and computer languages. He is a member of editorial board of the Far Eastern Mathematical Journal. Organizations he has worked with include Technical Research Institute, Tokyo, Japan, Institute for Information Systems of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok Medical University and Soviet Navy.
