In this study, the response of skin blood flow to local heating of subject's forearm was assessed by imaging photoplethysmography. The proposed system is featured by accurate control of the parameters affecting the endothelium during prolonged measurements. It is shown that this method reliably reflects the function of the mechanisms of regulation of peripheral vascular resistance, which is of great prognostic value for the detection of cardiovascular diseases.
